No, I did NOT eat all those Happy Meals! My kids bring the toys to me all the time.

Roy often buys movie standees online or gets them from video stores. We use those around the room.

This is my home away from home. I spend a lot of time at school so when I first
was hired for my first job, I knew I needed to make my classroom a place that was not only comfortable to me, but welcoming
to my students. I feel that when my kids first walk into my room before they even know me, they know a little about me. They
know I'm fun, silly, love Disney and Star Wars, and that I care enough to make it someplace special for them.
I also use music in my classroom. I choose the music and the kids like (tolerate)
it. I think atmosphere is an important aspect to the classroom. I've had many students tell me how much they appreciate that
I take the time to decorate my room.
The drawing of Stitch was done by my extremely talented and wonderful husband,
Roy. He also helped me decorate. His classroom is also highly decorated, although not as much Disney. He has a 7 foot tall,
life size, 3 dimensional Jar Jar Binks. It used to be in our livingroom so I was VERY happy when Jar Jar went to live in his
classroom! Maybe if I remember I'll post some pics of his room too.

It's a mess, but I love it. It needs more stuff on the walls, though.
I teach high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I have mostly boys, but even they like the class.
Oh sure, they tease me about it, but my other classroom (a hardware lab for building computers) isn't decorated and they tell
me it is "blah" and "not homey enough."
The courses I teach are pretty high tech and lots of fun. I teach courses that prepare students to take
the A+ Computer Repair Technician certification and a variety of Microsoft Certified Professional certifications. I also run
a tech team of boys (unfortunately no girls this year) who keep the computers in the school up and running. It's a VERY cool
program and I absolutely adore my students.
It may seem really strange to include a picture of a cake on a weight loss site,
but trust me...I only had a small piece and I counted the points and did NOT go over that day.
One of the assignments in my Networking I class is to create a model of the OSI
model. The OSI model is a seven layer conceptual design that describes how computers communicate with each other on the network.
This cake was made by one of my teams of boys (!!) and they did an awesome job. They had a presentation that accompanied it
that was excellent. I was so proud of them that I wanted to share the cake with the world!
