My Weight Loss Journey

Recent Photos
Here are some recent photos showing my progress. The newest ones show me at 113 pounds. My goal weight is 130, personal goal is 120.

Going Going...Nearly GONE!

Here I am at Disneyland (obviously) with my niece and nephew. I am below goal and wearing sizes 2 or 4. I never EVER dreamed I'd wear a size 2 on anything but my big toe! My shorts here are size 4, but are actually quite loose on me.

I'm weighing 113 and feeling great. I am working on getting between 115 and 120. Yes, that means I'm gaining weight on purpose. I left the hospital at 106, so 113 is a good thing right now! I'm gaining with the same careful planning that I used while losing. Even though I've made and passed goal, I still journal every day, still eat within points every day, and still make positive food choices every day. I exercise 90 minutes a day most days and feel really good.

All this healthy living paid off in spades during and after a recent series of three surgeries. While they certainly were not what one would consider fun, I did heal quite quickly. (I had a whipple procedure, aka the "Grandaddy of all Surgeries" so it was a big deal, but only a few months later I'm feeling in the pink.)

Dare I say...the boobs are back, thanks to Victoria's Secret. I was a 48 F and am now a 36 C.

Ahoy!

Here we are at the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Event in Disneyland!

I really have to thank all of the people who are supporting me in my efforts. First and most supportive would be my husband, Roy and my sister, Tammy. They have been with me every step of the way. He's lost 60 pounds during the process. (Tammy has always looked hot and never had any pounds to lose because already knew how to make healthy choices for her body.)

In addition my friend Jen, a harried and hagard Vet (aka "real doctor") student in Michigan has always been a great IM supporter. She is doing awesome herself on WW and somehow managing to do it WHILE going through her third year of vet school!

Online I have enjoyed the support of many people on the Weight Watchers 50+ Pounds to Lose bulletin board, the Pointers email list, the Weight Watchers...uncensored group, and the Serious Weight Watchers email list. They are like a 24 hour a day "meeting." Together we share each others victories and let downs, supporting and being supported every day. They are a very cool group of people.

Above is my Christmas outfit, size 5/6. Since starting to work out with weights and 60 minutes of cardio a day I've really noticed a tightening of all the scary bits. I still have issues in the ab area, but I just have to keep working at it. Below is the outfit with a jacket called a "Reefer Jacket." Interesting name. I checked the pockets and nope, didn't find any.

The top two pictures were taken in October. I was in a size 8/9 at that point. I'm not my best because I just got home from working out. I feel incredible, though.

The black dress (below) I wore on our anniversary. We even had pictures taken at the restaurant (I would never have even considered it 40 pounds ago). We had dinner at Chin Chins in the New York New York Hotel, then headed to the Mandalay Bay in our swimsuits (yes, I walked THROUGH VEGAS in a swimsuit and coverup) for the B-52s Beach Party at the Mandalay Bay. It was an awesome evening. My husband really knows how to do an anniversary right.

Since a number of people have asked, yes that is my "real" hair. I've always been naturally curly and it is all mine.

Of course you may have noticed that my hair is straight in the goal pic above. I had it straightened in December and while I like my curly hair, I love my straight hair. I'm sure I'll go back to curly someday...

Down 75 pounds here in my size 9 juniors skort.

Size 12! I'm shocked myself.

Wooo! A "little black dress!" Okay, so it's not exactly Barbie Clothes, but it's a size 12 and it fits perfectly and I look better than I've looked in years. I am so pleased with this! Here I weigh about 169/170. (My only question...where did my boobs go??)

Unfortunately I went a little nutso when I hit size 12. See, my original goal was a size 14, so when I hit 12 I was in heaven! I bought way too many size 12 clothes and had to give away many of them without wearing them more than once. Bah!

Oh well, could be worse. I could be heading up instead of down!

Only (at most) 31 pounds to go! I can't believe I'm this close.

Side view. I'm not winning any beauty pageants, but compare this to that picture on the first page!
